"I Rock, Guitar Hero said so."

Sunday night me and Jessie finished Guitar Hero World Tour on medium with me on guitar and her on bass. Hot for Teacher was probably the hardest song in the game. After the game they have a Dream Theater song that you can play during the credits. After the credits they open up a "bonus" set which has some really hard songs. Completed that set as well which ends with a Joe Satriani instrumental, holy christ on a cross was that hard! The only song in the entire game that I failed at was "Hot for Teacher" the first time I played it. Every other song we beat on the first attempt. Part of me wants to move up to hard, but I guess for now I get to go backwards.. Jessie is going to pick up the guitar and I will be heading to either the bass (easier) or vocals. I kinda want to play the game all the way through on all four instruments so I might do the bass this time so I can get to know the songs better before trying to sing them since there are a bunch I have never heard before playing them on guitar.

Carrie sent me a "flair" the other day that said "I Rock, Guitar Hero said so." which is so true, you gotta love it when the singer bows to you after the song because you rocked so much... I played the guitar portion as Marcus Fretshredder and made him the best outfit for the final concert at Times Square. I bought the "star" outfit and made it all blue and orange, I even bought a "star" guitar and colored that blue and orange too. As Jessie says "It's gayer than Paul Stanley being fucked in the ass by a Paul Stanley look alike".. I don't care what she says, it's awesome...

Speaking of Carrie, she is in a really odd polyamory situation. I know you're going to say that polyamory in it self is a pretty odd situation, well I for one don't think it is so screw you for thinking so.. :P Anyway, back to Carrie... Her husband and boyfriend are both named Paul! Not only are they both named Paul but they both have last names that end in "B" so she can't even differentiate them without going to their middle names! PRB and PMB, I might add them to the relationship web, if I have her on my web I need to have her connections right? Jeez, how far do I go? Six degrees of separation and I wonder if we would find Kevin Bacon.. :D

Last night me and Jessie watched live TV for the first time in a long time. We decided that we would watch the final episode of Boston Legal real time. On the ride home last night my friend Jay told me that the best ribs he ever had at a restaurant was at the Courthouse in Putnam. I had never had them so I decided to check it out last night. I have to say that they are really good, but the best I've had is still out in Long Beach CA at Lucille's BBQ. I am pretty sure I wouldn't even call them the best ribs I've had in the Putnam area, I still like the ribs over at Buster's River's Edge in Thompson CT better. Anyway.. Back to Boston Legal...

This was the final episode ever of Boston Legal, it was two hours and was amazing, I'm not going to say anything about the episode because I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who has not seen it. If you saw the last few episodes you will know that Denny has been getting worse with his Alzheimers and he and Alan were fighting to get Denny a new medication that is in clinical trials, in the episode before this they said they were going to the supreme court for the finale. You also know that the firm is going bankrupt and Carl and Shirley are getting married. They did a very good job of wrapping up Crane, Poole and Schmidt and even made a comment about coming back on a network that cared. Speaking of networks that care... ION TV purchased the contract for Boston Legal and begins showing re-runs tonight. The rumour was that ION TV was going asking for new episodes for a 6th season to air next year. David E Kelly also signed on a deal to produce a new drama-comedy law show for NBC for next season. The new NBC show has no title or description yet and it's rumoured to be a BL spin-off.

In other TV news - Scrubs is coming back in January, the show will air on ABC for what is being called (for the third straight year) it's final season.

I tried to upload a video to Youtube yesterday and it won't allow the upload because the file is too short? Anyway, it was a video of a guy trying to down a tree with his truck. They had put a cable from the truck to the top of the tree and drove so that the tree would fall. It fell, right on the truck... Gotta love stupid people sometimes...

Well since that couldn't be your diversion of the day... How 'bout this?

Break the wall!

Watching Boston Legal from tonight and holy crap!! Carl Sac brings a case against the Television Networks for discriminating against people over 50. He says that there is no quality programing targeted at people over 50 and although the people over 50 make more money and buy more CD and movies only 10% of the advertising is geared towards them. He than has possible one of the best quotes in tv history.. "All the networks want to do is skew younger, kids shows for kids. The only show un-afraid to have it's stars over 50 is Bo... Gee I can't say it, it would break the wall." The last part is said while pointing at the cameras... I love this show and really can't believe it is being cancelled.. Come on, I really hope another network picks it up...

Denny Crane

Caught up on Daily Show and Boston Legal this weekend. Boston Legal only has a few more episodes before the end of the show, or at least the end of it's run on ABC. In the last episode we watched Denny Crane said that if they didn't make Jerry Espenson a partner he would walk and take his name off the door. When the partners talked about maybe letting him go Jerry went off on a rant about how if Denny left, he would leave and probably Alan and they can make their own spin off, he even went so far as to say the network didn't even want them anyway. I really love that show.. There is talk of ION TV (don't know that network) picking it up for another season next year.

Posted pics from Joe's 50th birthday party, the problem with taking pictures on my mom's camera is now I don't have them to post to my flickr page. I posted the few I took but need to get the rest from her..

Today would have been my three year anniversary with Elizabeth, I can't believe it's been that long. I know some people shit on her, but everyone comes into your life when they are supposed to. I can't even imagine where my life would be had I not met/dated her.

Japanese Baseball - a process...

As I mentioned in my previous post the Climax Series will be going on in Japan while I am there. The Pacific League series is being held at the Seibu Dome this year. Tickets are currently available for all games. Infield Field Level Reserve tickets are 2,000 Yen which about $18.00!! Field Level Infield Box seats are 10,000 Yen which is about $94.00!!

Field Level Infield Box seats are all sold out for the Pacific League series. So I decide to get Infield Reserve on First Base side.. Went to Seibu Lions website and translated the whole thing to get to the ticket page, translated the ticket page to select my seat, translated the payment page to find where to put name, address, cc information.. Got all the way done and it tells me that my address is invalid! I can't buy the ticket using an address outside of Japan!! I even tried "will call" for shipping method.. ugh!

I just emailed the hotel and asked them if they can buy me a ticket to Tuesday Oct 21st Pacific League Climax Series game. Who knows, maybe they can even get a box seat.. Either that or they will tell me they don't do that sort of thing.. If that's the case I will email a guy from work and ask him if he would do it. I just feel bad asking some guy from work to use is CC to buy me a ticket to a game..

----
The Central League games are held at the Tokyo Dome but don't go on sale till 10am on Oct 13th. If the hotel can get me this ticket then I will email them and ask them to get me a ticket to the Central League too. If they can't I will pester the guy at work again.

Watched Mon, Tues and Wednesday's Daily Shows last night.. Jon Stewart is not pulling any punches this week! He went off about congress taking the day off because of the Jewish holiday.. He started cursing about how the Daily Show was still on and he can guarantee that there are more Jews at the Daily Show than in Congress! It was awesome.. He also ripped into a guest he had who was a speech writer about how the candidates always spew shit and why can't they just let us vote on where they stand on the issues.. He slammed Sarah Palin for her stance on Abortion, he slammed McCain for his stance on Abortion and Equal Marriage Rights.. He is just an angry man right now. I guess it's gotta to be frustrating for him, he has been trying to tell everyone what's really going on now for a long time. Although I think people listen to him he has to feel like it's not making a difference because the country is still just as fucked up. Maybe if he stops being subtle about his views he will persuade more people? I also think part of his anger is at his frustration with the Mets folding again.. At least he is doing something good with that anger, he is taking it out on stupid politicians!

----
Watched Boston Legal from this week, it was a very good episode about how the country lets stupid adults vote but does not let informed 17 year olds vote.. That show always proves it really is one of the best shows on TV.. I really hope that ABC realizes their mistake and continues it past this year.. Denny Crane and Alan Shore were on the balcony at the end of the episode talking about how this might be there last year and if it was what would they like to do, how would they like to go out, etc.. Gotta love the writing on that show...

"Fifty-one percent of debate watchers say Biden did best job, CNN poll says"
What the fuck is wrong with the other 49 percent!!! Can we put them on a boat and send them, I don't know where, just fucking send them somewhere!! This stupid fucking team of McCain and Palin must, I repeat MUST, not be elected to the White House!! What the fuck is wrong with this country that anyone would say anything good about that stupid dumb ass biz-atch!

Sidelines II

Had a good time today.. I went with Sara to drop Rene off at school and we went to the Willi Brew Pub for lunch.. The Willi Brew Pub has Murphy’s Irish Stout on tap.. It is was a little waterier than it is in Ireland, but the taste is there! I was very happy with it.. After lunch we went to the co-op so Sara could do some shopping and then had to hurry back to get Rene..

Talked with AJ for a long time tonight before the Mets game.. It was good because I had not talked to him in a long time and we had a lot of catching up to do.. Watched Boston Legal tonight, it was a great episode to start off the season, it really is one of the best shows on TV, it will be sad if it really gets cancelled this year..

Onto the Mets and the sidelines… John Maine was activated today, he pitched again this afternoon and his pitches were 92-93 MPH! We jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead but Perez gave it all back and then it became a battle of the bullpens.. The Mets had 1st and 3rd with 0 outs in the 7th and didn’t score and they had the bases loaded with one out in both the 8th and 9th with no runs scored!! The bullpen finally faltered in the 10th and the Cubs took a heart breaking game.. How do you strand 8 runners in the last three innings and expect to win? Fuck, Fuck, FUCK!!! The Brewers beat the Pirates which means the Mets and Brewers are now tied for the Wild Card. At least the Braves, let by Chipper Jones, crushed the Phillies today so we are still 1.5 games out of the Eastern division..

Finally ordered...

Sitting at work.. Cleaned out my inboxes and am about to start reading my new class... But first, the internet browsing and blogging.. :D

I finally ordered two things I've been really wanting.. First - I got a Pinwheel Coin Purse and secondly I got an iPod case!

It's Monday.. Oh so fun to be at the office.. I am planning to talk to my boss this afternoon about working from home the rest of the week.. Hopefully he will let me, I get more work done plus the kitties like having me around.. :D

Looking forward to this week? Tonight's up in the air, I'm either going with Jessie to look at getting her a new Verizon phone and going to see Burn After Reading or I'm going to go to Lynz's house for dinner with her and Anja.. I'll find out later as the day progresses, it's probably going to be the first option but we will see how the day goes.. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have nothing planned yet.. I am supposed to do dinner with my grandmother one of those nights. Friday night and Saturday Jessie is going with Sara to Borderlands meetings. I am going out with Nathan on Friday night. Saturday night I think I'm going to meet up with Lynz and Anja after they get back from the CT Ren Faire and Sunday is the last regular season game at Shea.. It might be the last game at Shea if the Mets don't get their act together real fucking soon!

Another loss yesterday puts us 1.5 games behind Philadelphia and only 1.5 games up on Milwaukee and Houston. It was one of those painful losses, we were leading till the end when out bullpen fell apart again.. Where is John Maine? He is supposed to throw another simulated game today at Shea to see where his velocity is. I really hope he can help out in the next week.. The Mets play the Cubs for four games starting tonight. The Cubs clinched their division so they hopefully will be playing their B-Team to rest their A-Team for the playoffs. The Phillies play the Braves who hopefully won't lay down for them..

Heroes and Boston Legal both premier tonight.. I can't believe they are ending Boston Legal this year because of an argument that ABC got into with the creators. They are planning only 13 episodes which will put the show at exactly 100 episodes. Ironically the show is up for a record number of Emmy awards this year! I hope it wins them all so ABC will have to keep it on the air.. That's what happened with Scrubs two years ago.. NBC tried to cancel the show but it won a bunch of Emmys and they were forced to bring it back..

---- Thought of the day
No matter what you do you can't escape shopping on the Internet.. I have searched high and low since before Cork for an iPod case I liked and I have been searching since Cork for a coin purse.. Within an hour and a half I found and ordered both of them on the Internet.. It's no surprise that retail stores are going out of business.
